Dr. Angela Dawicki currently serves as the Chief Academic Officer of Northeast Maritime Institute, Inc. She and Eric Dawicki are the owners and incorporators of Northeast Maritime Institute, having purchased the company in 1995. Dr. Dawicki obtained her Doctorate in Higher Education Administration degree from Northeastern University. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering degree and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering degree from Tulane University.
 
As Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Dawicki is responsible for oversight and management of program curriculum, program evaluation, external approvals, faculty, student support and student achievement. Dr. Dawicki works closely with Student Services, Office of the Registrar, Office of Admissions, Bursar’s Office and Chief Financial Officer to ensure policies and procedures are in compliance and functioning seamlessly. Dr. Dawicki also currently holds the position of Financial Aid Officer.
 
Dr. Dawicki participates on the Board of Admissions, Financial Aid Committee, Scholarship Committee as well as the Institute Alliance. Dr. Dawicki is a member of the Board of Trustees and participates on the finance and academic advisory committees.
Over the past twenty-six (26) years, Dr. Dawicki has served many roles at NMI, including leading the development of maritime course curriculum, which was highly importantly during the transition of NMI from a self-study computer training facility into a full service maritime education and training school offering U.S. Coast Guard approved courses. From 2011-2016, Dr. Dawicki served as the Chief Financial Officer of Northeast Maritime Institute.
 
Before arriving at Northeast Maritime Institute in 1995, Dr. Dawicki served as a Project Manager in the Biomaterials Research Division of the Dept. of Orthopedics at Tulane Medical School. She was responsible for managing multiple projects related to implant design and implementation. She was responsible for calculating results from each research project, planning, budgeting and preparing final project reports to be presented in professional publications and symposiums.
